A Mother's Perspective

From Mary, 2 January 2007

Wow!  Thank you for your site. First glance has blown me away, but thank you!
As the mother of a ten year old caucasian boy, I feel it is important that my son know the reality of race relations; that he know the history and present undercurrents that impact our lives. I was once naive enough to believe that bigotry and racial prejudice were, primarily, remote aberrations in modern society. Having come to a greater sense of our present reality, I feel it is important to educate my child. Thank you for giving me a resource to use toward that end.

Peace, Mary

Reply from the editor-- Thank you, Mary.  It's certainly nice to start out the new year with a compliment.  We'll keep striving to improve the Afrolumens Project and keep it accurate, relevant and above all, interesting.
