Funeral Notice for T. Morris Chester


From The Patriot, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, October 4, 1892

Borne to Lincoln Cemetery

Revs. J. H. Anderson and R. H. Armstrong conducted the funeral services yesterday over the remains of General T. Morris Chester.  Interment was made in Lincoln Cemetery.  The guards of honor, who sat at the head and foot of the casket, were Messrs. George W. Thomas, of Susquehanna lodge, No. 2573, G.U.O.O.F., and Taylor Howard, of Brotherly Love lodge, No. 896, G.U.O.O.F.  Messrs. William White, Nicholas Butler, Thomas Miller, John Gaiter, Samuel Hall and Alfred Garner, all members of Past Grand Masters council, No. 7, were the pall bearers.


On September 21, 2002, a new tombstone for T. Morris Chester was unveiled during a special ceremony honoring his accomplishments.  Click here for photos of that ceremony.
