Cemetery was recently rescued from neglect by local historian Barbara B. Barksdale, who began the
Friends of Midland
organization.
That organization is the best source of information on the cemetery.

We are actively seeking photographs and documents from this cemetery and from the surrounding African American community. » At right, the first of two aerial views of Midland Cemetery. Barbara Barksdale notes that these pictures were taken in October of 1999, noting "Since then more of the trees have been removed. Can you see the cross with the sign?" (It is at the bottom, near the street.) She adds, "I love the shots." You can click this image for a much larger (132 kb) view.
