URR NEWS: SUMMER SEMINARS AT THE LEHRMAN INSTITUTE OF AMERICAN HISTORY, JULY 2004

Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History

The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History offers a series of summer seminars for teachers and National Park Service Rangers. The Summer 2004 seminars include, July 11-17, "Passages to Freedom: Abolition and the Underground Railroad," with David Blight, James and Louis Horton, and "North American Slavery in Historical Perspective," with Ira Berlin. Each seminar is limited to thirty students, and includes stipends, books, room and board. The application deadline is March 26, 2004.
