CHRISTIANA (PA) HISTORICAL SOCIETY, AUGUST 21, 2004

The Christiana Historical Society presents Toni Parker, great-great granddaughter of William and Eliza Parker at a luncheon on Saturday, August 21, 2004, 11:30 to 3:30. Parker will talk about her family history and her work in the Buxton Museum. There is a charge for the luncheon. BUXTON (ONTARIO) 80TH ANNUAL HOMECOMING CELEBRATION, SEPTEMBER 3-6, 2004

This year's program at Buxton includes on Friday, September 3, the 7th annual US/Canadian History and Genealogy Conference with Dennis Gannon speaking on Rev. Hiram Wilson, Marlene Bransom on African-American History in Pittsburgh and the Canadian Connection, Michele S. Johnson on the URR in Michigan, Tony Burroughs on research in the National Archives and Kate Clifford Larson on Harriet Tubman. [This is a wonderful event and well attended by researchers from both the US and Canada as well as by descendants of the "self emancipated" residents of Buxton, Chatham, Dresden and other communities.]
