TUBMAN PRESENTATIONS AT AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM OF PHILADELPHIA (PA) ON SATURDAYS, JUNE 26- JULY 31, 2005

Melissa Waddy-Thibodeaux will perform her one-woman show, "The Resurrection of Harriet Tubman in Escape to Freedom" at the African American Museum of Philadelphia, beginning on Saturday, June 26, 2005 and continuing each Saturday through July 31st. The program begins at 12:00 and ends at 3.00. Workshops and classes are also available. For further information, e-mail [email protected]  or telephone the African-American Museum.

SUMMER UNDERGROUND RAILROAD HERITAGE TOURS AT KENNETT (PA) UNDERGROUND RAILROAD CENTER, JUNE-AUGUST, 2005

The Kennett Underground Railroad Center (Kennett Square, Pennsylvania) is again offering guided tours of local Underground Railroad sites. These tours will be offered on Sunday, June 26, July 24 and August 28, 2005. The tours, in an air-conditioned mini-bus, last an hour and will depart from the History Station in Kennett Square, 505 South Broad Street, at 1, 2 and 3 pm. The cost is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. Reservations are necessary. Please call 610-347-2337 to reserve. Admission to the museum at the History Station, open 1-3 pm on Saturdays is free. SOLOMON NORTHRUP DAY IN SARATOGA SPRINGS, NEW YORK, SATURDAY, JULY 16, 2005

The 7th Annual Solomon Northrup Day: A Celebration of Freedom will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2005, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Saratoga Visitor Center, Corner of Congress Street & Broadway, City of Saratoga Springs, New York. Dr. Marcia Sutherland, Associate Professor in the Departments of Africana Studies and Psychology at the University of Albany, State University of New York, will be the keynote speaker. Guests include Dr. L. Oliver Robinson, Dr. Clifford Brown, Union College, Dr. Timothy Harper, Skidmore College, Paul Stewart of the Underground Railroad History Project of the Capital Region, Inc., representatives from the North Country Underground Railroad Historical Association, Historian Tom Calarco, Mary & Houygen Chen, opera, Garland Nelson, vocalist, The James Daggs Trio, Follow The Drinking Gourd Puppet Show for children and other invited guests include clergy, government officials and nationally renowned jazz violinist, John Blake, Jr.
