      Notes: Hariot is probably the daughter of Grace (see entry below). Boone's registration of Hariot was made in Centre County:
      I Joseph Boone of Chincleclamouch Township in the County of Clearfield and State of Pennsylvania Do hereby make Known unto William Petrikin Esquire Clerk of the Courts of General Quarter Sessions of the peace for Centre County (to which Clearfield County is by law annexed) That on the twenty Sixth day of January in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred ten a Mulatoe female Child was born in my family in Chincleclamouch Township aforesaid what I have named Hariot Oto & which Child I request you the said William Petrikin to Register agreeably to Law -- Witness my hand and seal the eighteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and ten. 1810

      Description: "Negro boy"
      Notes: Son of Grace and twin brother of Orson, both born in Grampian Hills, Lycoming County and registered by Boone in Centre County:
      I Joseph Boone of Chinclinclamouse Township in the County of Clearfield and State of Pennsylvania do hereby make Known unto William Petrikin Esquire Clerk of the Courts of Quarter Sessions of the peace for Centre County (to which Clearfield County is by law annexed) That on the night of the twenty ninth day of april last a certain negro woman of the name of Grace was delivered of two negro boys in my family at the plantation of Doctor Colemans, the said negro woman being a Servant of mine until the age of twenty eight years, the oldest of said Children is named Valentine & the youngest Orson, and which two children I request you the said William Petrikin Esquire to register agreeably to law -- Witness my hand & Seal the second day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & Eleven 1811 --

      In addition to Boone's sworn statement, the register includes an affirmation by Dr. Samuel Coleman, at whose estate the children were born:

      Before me the Subscriber Clerk of the Court of General Quarter Sessions in and for said County came Samuel Coleman who saith on his solemn oath affirmation that on the night of the twenty ninth of April last a certain Negro Woman of the name of Grace was delivered of two Negro boys in the family of Joseph Boon on the Grampian hills on the plantation of this deponent -- the said Negro woman being a servant for twenty eight years unto the said Joseph Boon -- the oldest of the said Negro children is named Valentine and the youngest Orson -- The woman is married to a Negro man of the [name] Henry C. Otto
      Affirmed and subscribed the 27th day of August 1811 Wm Petrikin Saml Coleman

      Notes: Mother of twin boys Valentine and Orson, both born in Grampian Hills, Lycoming County and registered by Boone in Centre County. See the entry for Valentine, above, for full text of the documents. Although Boone does not include this information in his statement, Dr. Coleman's affirmation includes the information that "The woman is married to a Negro man of the [name] Henry C. Otto." Grace is very likely also the mother of Hariot, born in January 1810 and registered by Boone as "Hariot Oto."
