May 1, 1794: Ben escapes with an iron collar on his neck

Five Dollars Reward.
RAN away from the subscriber on the 15th of April last, living in Ohio county, near West Liberty, a negro man named BEN, 19 years af age, tall and slender built, a sour countenance, his fore teeth appears black, had an iron collar on his neck, took with him a blue coat with red cuffs and collar, striped waistcoat, leather breeches, and new shoes. Whoever takes up said negro and secures him in any jail, so that his master can get him again, shall have the above reward, and if brought home, shall be paid reasonable charges.
