This Return had been made on the 12th of August in all things perfect, except that the name of the Child had been omitted; at that time it was recorded with a blank for that name.
Note that the original registration made by Hutton was faulty in that it did not include the enslaved child's name. Hutton filed an amended return along with swearing an oath before Judge Cook a month later in order to make the registration legal.
